The Series heads into the final stretch of it’s exciting 2015 season, held at Road Atlanta. Recognized as one of the world’s best road courses, the event at Braselton Atlanta is also known as the Petit Lemans weekend. This event is the jewel in the crown for the championship, the 12-turn, 2.54 mile circuit is one of the fastest and toughest on the Super Trofeo calendar.
With an impending hurican to hit the eastern seaboard, open practice was run wet. The team quickly made changes to the car to adapt to the wet conditions. Practice went well without issues, the team found themselves a little bit off pace, since both drivers Paul Tylor and Joe Chan has never race on the Road Atlanta road course.
Qualifying was also run in changing conditions, from dry to wet, back to dry again, no issues with qualifying, the team managed a P4 position on the grid in the Gallardo class.
Race One – With an aggressive start, cars were making contact upfront, team Paragon Competition managed to stay out of trouble, running its own pace and catching 2nd position, when the pit window opened for the mandatory pit stop, the team with a fresh driver managed to take P2, but along came the front runners in the Hurican class, unfortunately, Joe was hit from the side entering turn 12, causing him to spin and lost 2nd position. The team was lucky as there was minimum damage to the Gallardo LP 570-4. Joe Chan managed to hang on to P3 for the podium finish.
Race Two – Was declared a wet race, after making repairs early morning from the previous race, the team was ready to battle for the podium once again. The first caution of the race was triggered when the no.69 of Tom O’Gara made heavy contact with the wall in Turn 5, the race was red-flagged for extensive cleanup on the course, O’Gara was admitted to local hospital for observation, he was awake and alert and we wish him the best and a full recovery. The race resumed after two laps and a pit stop for driver’s change, the Gallardo return to the track with Joe Chan on wet tires, but the conditions started to change, the track was drying quickly. “I knew if I continued to push hard on the rain tire, I would eventually overheat them and destroy the tires.” Said Joe Chan, I had to hunt for puddles of water at all the corners to try and cool the tires down”. We will look forward to seeing that on the TV broadcast! With the tires in good shape, Joe held onto P3 and managed another podium finish. This is the team’s 7th podium finish for the season, collecting much needed points that were lost during round 3 and 4 of the Virginia race.
Team Paragon competition-Blue Chem Canada will head into the final round at Sebring International Race way with a two points deficit to 2nd place in the team championship. The final round will host the world finals where all the top teams from Europe and Asia will battle for the grand champion title, stay tuned!

After a disappointing race at VIR, the team with a rebuilt race car and renewed passion was looking forward to a podium finish. Free practice was a disaster, with 8 minutes on the clock the session was haulted with a red flag, due to an incident on track, by the time the track was cleared the session was over due to time elapsed. The afternoon session was not any better, with another incident on track and clean up, both Paul and Joe only had three laps each to learn a new and technical track.
This meant qualifying would be a struggle, after 40 minutes of qualifying, Team Paragon only managed a 6th in class qualifying position. This means starting well back on the grid on race one. Race one was exciting as expected, with traffic and attrition at the start, the team managed to move up to P4 in class, and managed to make the pass for P3 and a podium finish for race 1.
Race Two was basically the repeat of Race one, with the technical COTA circuit claiming cars that were overheating and attrition, the Blue Chem team managed.

The weekend started with open practice and testing on Thursday, the number 15 Blue Chem – Paragon Competition was on pace, however an off track incident late in the day damaged the front splitter. The crew worked hard to repair the damage, and looked forward to a good qualifying session.
Paul was out for the start of the qualifying session, and noticed a vibration at high speed. So the team brought the car in for repairs to the splitter once again. That meant car 15 did not have enough time for a good result in qualifying, and only managed a 5th position in class for the start of Race 1.
Race 1 was a run with multiple full course yellows, the Blue Chem-Paragon Competition Gallardo only managed a 5th place finish due to the full course yellows.
Race 2 was not any better, Paul was hit by another competitor at the 5 minute mark, the Blue Chem-Paragon Competition Gallardo sustained heavy damage and did not finish. The team tried their best but could not repair the car in time for Race 3.
Moving on to Texas COTA, the team will rally and work hard to fight for a better finish.

Round 3 and 4 was held at the famous Watkin’s Glenn International Raceway, home of the US Grand Prix in the 60’and 70”s. This famed race track with a steeped history, built in 1940’s, is located at the beautiful “finger lakes” region of upstate New York.
Team Paragon Competition, practiced well, and prepared for the qualifying rounds on Friday. Morning Qualifying went well, Paul Taylor of the #15 Blue Chem Canada Super Trofeo was on pace. The afternoon qualifications went well, Joe Chan was also on pace, and put the Gallardo in P3 for the AM class.
Joe reported the front end of the car was not behaving as it should, upon tear down and inspection, the technicians noticed a leak in the front differential. The crew had found the bolts holding the internal gear housing had failed, this meant we had to install a new differential unit. With time to spare, the crew did a fantastic job and got the car onto the starting grid.
The #15 Blue Chem Canada Super Trofeo, ran flawlessly and worked its way up to P3, looking for a P2 battle approaching the halfway mark. Paul brought the car in for the mandatory pit stop, 4 new tires and drivers change, leaving the pits in P4. Multiple full course yellows from various crashes on track meant there was no over taking, until the 10 minute remaining mark, Joe took this opportunity to catch up with P3 to make the pass, putting the #15 Blue Chem Canada Super Trofeo on the 3rd step of the podium, collecting and closing the gap for the AM class championship.
Round 4 was cancelled on Saturday, due to heavy rain, IMSA had decided to shut down the track due to standing water on multiple corners of the race track. Round 4 will be run at a later date, stay tune!

MONTEREY, CALIFORNIA. May 5th 2015. The Toronto based team Paragon Competition, representing Lamborghini Uptown Toronto, took part in the first race of the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo North American series. The team finished on a high note with a second place finish in the AM Class in Race One, and a third place finish in Race Two. “Down on power for qualifying, we knew we were not on pace this weekend.” says Paul Taylor.
Driver Joe Chan – inside the Lamborghini Super Trofeo
“We worked with our engineers and the Lamborghini engineers to try to find a solution, but could not find any issues with the mapping. There was just not enough time to check the fuel pumps which we think is the culprit.” Nevertheless, the team pushed hard, and when the mandatory 60 second pit stops came into play, the Blue Chem Group #15 Gallardo pitted and changed drivers. Exiting the pits in P2, “we were called in by IMSA officials for leaving the pit box 2 seconds too early, so I had to serve a drive through penalty” states Joe Chan. We were out of contention for the top step of the podium, but the Paragon Team did a great job, getting us to Laguna, we will push harder for the next race.
Drivers: Joe Chan and Paul Taylor with 2nd place hardware!
The Laguna Race netted the team some valuable points for the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo North American Series Championship with the second and third place finishes.

The 2014 season came to an end with celebration; the Bluechem sponsored Paragon Competition GS Camaro wrapped up the GT Challenge GS title and the Team Championship title. Missing two races this season, the team came into the crucial round of the 59th running of the BEMC 3 hour endurance race. A double points race, this would be the deciding race for the title. “We are 26 points behind the GS class points leader #255 of Richard Labbe” ..Said Paragon Competition team principle Joe Chan. We will need to score a win here and at the final celebration race.
The team is focused and ready. Once again the pit stops were the key, at the full course yellow just after the half way mark, the Paragon Camaro came in for 17 gallons of fuel and a driver’s change. Executed flawlessly, the team got the Paragon Camaro out of the pits at the minimum required time. Running a good pace, the Paragon Camaro lead and won the 3 hour endurance race, taking home maximum points and the lead in the GS class.
The celebration race, was the final race of the season. With the #255 Mustang of Labbe as a no show and mechanical issues with the VW of Mark Durant, the Paragon Competition Camaro finished 2nd in the GS Class, to capture the championship and the team championship. Thank you to the Team and our partners, Bluechem and CKS motorsports for their support in winning our 2014 GT Challenge GS Championship.

Mission accomplished: YACO Racing powered by Jochen Schweizer finished the 2012 ADAC GT Masters on high and reached the self-imposed goal to finish within the top-20. In the 16th and final race of the season at Hockenheim, Max Sandritter and Philip Geipel finished in 18th position in the Chevrolet Camaro GT. In the first race at the final round of the season, the Camaro GT felt victim of an attack of a competitor.
Max Sandritter and Philip Geipel used the last chance at the final round of the ADAC GT Masters season to reach the season goal. At Hockenheim, the Camaro drivers managed the final foray into the highly competitive midfield of the ADAC GT Masters. Sandritter/Geipel finished in 18th position and scored their best result of the season. Already in Saturday’s penultimate race of the season, the Camaro-drivers had a strong race and were en route to a top-20 finished, when a competitor hit the Camaro under braking and forced Sandritter to retire from the race.
Team boss Uwe Geipel was pleased with the good result just before the winter break, which will be very short for YACO RACING powered by Jochen Schweizer: „Our primary goal was this season to finish within in the top-20. This goal is now archived. Now we will have only a very short break, has we work together with Sareni United, the developers of the Camaro GT, intensively on updates for the 2013 season and have a development test planned in the coming weeks.“
“It was an exhausting, but great second race for me,” Philip Geipel said after the season finale. “I had a tough, but very fair battle with a Ford GT and a BMW. The cool down lap was very emotional, there was a standing ovation from the fans. 18th place in the final race of the year is our best result. We can built on this for the coming weeks, were have planned a intensive development program with the car for the 2013 season.“

The ADAC GT Masters enters its final stage of the 2012 season. Last weekend, YACO Racing powered by Jochen Schweizer took part in the penultimate round of the season at the Nürburgring. Philip Geipel and Max Sandritter, who shard the sole Chevrolet Camaro GT at the second appearance of the highly competitive series at the Nürburgring, only briefly missed the goal to finish within the Top-20. In both races, the Camaro GT finished 22nd.
Geipel and Sandritter experienced two almost flawless races at the Nürburgring. The Camaro GT run absolutely trouble free in both races. Only one spin in the first half of Saturday’s race cost three places. Start position and results were identical in both races: From start position 29th in both Sunday’s and Saturday’s races, Sandritter and Geipel saw the chequered flag in 22nd position.
“It would have been great to finish both races within the top-20 here, but unfortunately the car was sometimes during the race a bit inconstant“, YACO Racing team boss Uwe Geipel said after the two races. “Speedwise, we reached in the meantime the maximum, we can get out of the car. Since the season started, we put a lot of development into the car and can race in the meantime within the midfield of the ADAC GT Masters. For further improvements of the Camaro, the development company Sareni United, which built the car, is now required to make the car faster. The car still has the potential, but further updates are now in the range of homologated parts and updates can only be done by Sareni.”
After a promising race at the Lausitzring and a most recent development test of Sareni, Philip Geipel also hoped for a further uptrend at the Nürburgring. “Unfortunately this didn’t happen. We are fast here on the straights, but in every corner, we loose so much time. I’m at the maximum and didn’t made any mistake but we can’t get more out of the car. Nevertheless, in the second race we almost reached our goal and were 20th, before we unfortunately lost two positions in the final laps of the race.”
The final race weekend of the ADAC GT Masters will take place from 28th to 30th September at the Hockenheimring. After entering a single Chevrolet Camaro GT in the most recent two rounds, YACO Racing powered by Jochen Schweizer plans to finish the season with it’s pair of Camaro GT.

Good progress by YACO Racing powered by Jochen Schweizer with the Chevrolet Camaro GT in the ADAC GT Masters: At the second “home match” of the team from Saxony at the Lausitzring near Dresden, the Camaro GT made further progress and achieved it’s best result of the season so far. In the second of two heats at the Lausitzring on Sunday, Max Sandritter and Philip Geipel missed only briefly a top-20 finish in the 40 car strong grid of the ADAC GT Masters and finished 21st. YACO Racing powered by Jochen Schweizer entered only one Camaro GT in the sixth round of the series at Germany’s easternmost racetrack.
On the “most American” of all ADAC GT Masters racetrack, the Lausitzring, which is surrounded by a high-speed oval, the U.S. muscle car again made a leap. “The development is not standing still, we’ve just made significant progress with the brake performance this weekend”, team boss Uwe Geipel said with satisfaction. „We are now able to brake at the braking points, where also our competitors brake. This was previously not the case. The progress is there, but as we know, also our competitions don’t sleep.”
In Sunday’s race, the Camaro GT thrilled the fans on the monumental grand stands of the Lausitzring therefore not only with V8-rumble, but also with a strong race. Starting from 29th, starting driver Philip Geipel drove in the first half of the race in the top-20, before Max Sandritter brought the Camaro GT eventually in 21st position to the finish line. “A small electrical problem cost us at the pit stop exactly seven seconds, and thus a position”, Philip Geipel said after the race. “Otherwise, the car ran well and smoothly from start to finish.”
In Saturday’s first race, Sandritter and Geipel were denied a possible good result. Sandritter had a very good start. From starting position 31, the 23-year-old went up to position 23 during the opening laps of the race. But then the Camaro slipped into the gravel bed due to a puncture. Two laps were lost to recover the Camaro from the gravel, thus Sandritter/Geipel decided to call it a day. “The puncture was too bad, because after the good start by Max, we had all chances to score a good result”, said Uwe Geipel.
YACO Racing powered by Jochen Schweizer started at the Lausitzring only with one Camaro GT. Charlie Geipel and Achim Winter had to miss the race. “We had an engine failure at the car of Charlie and Achim at the Red Bull Ring and when we checked the engine of Max and Philip in our shop, this engine had similar not very encouraging signs. As we had only one spare engine and no second one available, as the engines are coming from the United States, we had to make the really though decision which car to give the fresh engine”, Uwe Geipel explained the absence of the second car.
At the next round of the ADAC GT Masters at the Nürburgring in three weeks, YACO Racing powered by Jochen Schweizer expects to make another step forward.
